Appointment of Dirk Peters as Director of Marketing

Calif. – December 15, 2003 –
Plextor® Corp., a leading developer and manufacturer
of high-performance digital media equipment, today announced
that Dirk Peters has been named director of marketing
and new business development. His primary responsibilities
include directing the development of ConvertX digital
video converters for retail and OEM segments, and developing
new sales channel opportunities for Plextor CD- and DVD-Recordable
products.
Mr.
Peters brings to Plextor a wealth of knowledge and experience
in digital media and video technologies and markets. He
was most recently the director of worldwide marketing
for SCM Microsystems' Dazzle division, where he managed
global marketing for consumer video and digital media
products. Mr. Peters is also an expert in marketing optical
disc drives with more than nine years of experience at
Sony in several key management positions, including general
manager of the value-added products division and OEM marketing
manager of the personal storage products division.
